I have been thinking...What constitutes a Diva? So I ask Jeeves and what I found was slightly entertaining. Opinions and facts create what will be called the Diva Book of Virtues Volume I. Enjoy.

Fiddiedoo says:

"Must have sex appeal, be a singer, be successful (sales-wise), must inspire teen girls to do the same.Oh, I forgot: must be a girl"

To which AnneS replies:

"This word used to describe distinguished female operatic singers, I don't understand why pop singers are called divas these days... I don't think they deserve it. From Wikipedia: 'Diva is the Latin and Italian word for 'goddess', the feminine form of the Latin word divus (= 'god').' Isn't this heresy? ;) More from Wikipedia:
'By definition, a diva is a rampaging female ego redeemed only in part by a lovely voice. The word was originally used of great female opera singers, almost always sopranos (like Maria Callas), but can be used to describe many female celebrities, such as singers, or movie actresses.'"

Self acclaimed Diva and author Kim Duke notes, "Remember this line from your Diva: Chickens Don't Take Chances. But Divas Do!So ask yourself:What have I been avoiding/regretting/denying? What small positive step can I take to move me forward?"

Sounds more like Dr. Phil's shadow puppet to me.
Leave it to the people with too many minutes and too few brain cells to fill the rest of us in on the important things in life. ha!
