ALMOST DISCOVERED...read on.
As most of you know, I have multiple personalities. I find it neccessary to live life being as dramatic as possible, which requires my becoming different characters sometimes. Ok, here we go...
Yesterday was our first venture into Rome. To be honest, I was really enjoying the small towns and was sort of dreading the rush into Tourist Lane. I'm thankful for my doubt, however, because it set me up for an incredible surprise. ARE YOU READY?
I'm trapped in a crowd of people. It's stuffy and a lot of people are sneezing. It's all walk and no talk. AND THEN...I see light at the end of the tunnel. I walk out of the station and, WOW!, what is this? I think I'm in love. Ah, yes, one has come along and swept me off of my feet in a moments notice. His name? Rome.
The first thing I see is an array of beautiful buildings, tall and rich in color and detail. I look left and see the spanish steps, I look right and see the wardrobe of my dreams. Then, all at once, something very strange happened...I became very dizzy, the wind picked up, and suddenly, I felt my hair growing and my waist shrinking. "What 'tis happening?" I wondered. And then, it all became clear. I was no longer myself, but Audrey. Of course, When in Rome, why be yourself? I became giddy and my own Roman Holiday began. To my fancy, I had several people come up to me and say..."you-Audrey Hepburn...." They really know how to cater to my dreams, here. I'm not coming home.
After window shopping, we saw the pantheon, several beautiful cathedrals, Bernini Square, The Fountain of Trevvi, etc...
While eating lunch at a quaint little sidewalk cafe, Something very familiar came across my radar screen. I noticed a group of people walking to a large truck with cameras and lighting equipment and other "cimema" tools. Well, I couldn't just sit there. I followed them down to their catering truck and asked a man what they were doing...long story short, I talked with the director and producer for a brief 15 minutes and discussed the possibilities of my "help" in the film.
Of course, they are only filming for three more weeks and were leaving for Greece to finish up. It is a film called "A Year in Rome," and is about Romans/Greeks....something or another...
I asked if they knew of Tim Burton, they lit up and said, "Yeah, Yeah!" I told them that I have worked with Tim (though I didn't tell them how much we've worked together..) in Big Fish. Lucky for me, they knew the film and they freaked out. By the time I left them, they were under the impression that I was the "actress in the film." HA! I did not tell them that, but it was too hard to correct them. :) Language barriers. They can make or break you. tee hee. They asked how long I would be working in Rome, I told them three months. They said maybe we would meet again. I said, Yes, maybe. Then the producer told me He just applied for his green card. I said, good luck. haha. What an adventure.
It took me five days, but I finally found a set. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
I have to leave the palace for lunch/siesta time...but more later.
Ciao, Ciao!
