Monday, I had my second run in with a film crew. I met them in La Rupa (neighboring restaurant) and chatted for a while. They were from L.A. and were in Italy filming the pilot for a new cooking show for the food network. I told them that I was soon to be a host on the food channel...or that it was one of my dream jobs. He gave me his card and said that WHEN I get to L.A. to call him and he will work with me to get something accomplished. I don't really count on that, but it makes for a cool story. On with Tuesday-
I love Lucy; Episode Smashing Grapes..
Tuesday we went to a Winery in Friscati and watched the process of making wine from local vinyards. It was very interesting and enjoyable. We ate lunch there and had a tasting. We were served 4 different wines throughout the lunch, my favorite being the desert selection...very sweet, like fruit juice. yum.
Lunch was incredible. I had a plate full of fresh veggies...oh my gosh. I'll try to upload a picture of that.
After the winery, we went and hung out at the second (home) palace of a Prince in Rome. He is of the royal Bernini/Borghesi (can't spell that) bloodline. I'll try to put a picture of that also.
Life here is as fine as the wine that the Italians make: Rich, colorful, and lots of flavor. The girls are all great, we laugh a lot. My Italian Professors are wonderful!
This weekend we are headed to Cinqua terra (five lands); I've heard nothing but wonderful things about the five little towns that make up the beautiful coastline of north Italy.
I have a food headache, so I'm going to run grab something, I think. Ciao, Bella/o.
