I've been thinking. What am I going to do with my life? So cliche, I know...But for some reason, I still wonder. Don't we all? My whole life I have been trying to think of an answer to the question we are all asked- "What do you want to be when you grow up?" What does that mean? When are we grown up? My grandparents are still trying to figure out what they want to be! The problem is that I want to be and do so many people/things. I try to make a tentative schedule that will allow me to check off a few things on my to do list.
The goal is to see all 50 states before I'm, well, 50. I would like to live in a huge city while I'm young and own some piece of prized land that is completely paid off by the time I'm retired (no age requirement). I feel the need to take culinary classes at some point and want to ride a motorcycle across the desert. I have built a tree house, but I think it would be fun to make a houseboat and float around in a pond or something...Just for kicks. It would have curtains and a chimney and a doorbell...And a balcony that you could fish off of. I've never been hunting-what a shame-that needs to happen. Then there's the whole famous thing: I'm still waiting. I would like to own a business and throw huge parties with Asian fusion dishes and weird music. I want to choreograph a production and sing on Broadway. For my midlife crisis, I think I might like to sky dive or steal an elephant from the zoo...? So much to do in so little time! But, at the end of the day, no matter where I am, I still want to feel that certain rush that only a select few in this world feel when they hear Lynyard Skynyrd sing Sweet Home Alabama.
Here's the plan: I want to take some time off and drive from city to city. I want to see this country before I'm tied down to responsibility. All these people that I don't know...Who are they? I'm going to meet them. In order for this to happen, I need a travel partner. The requirements are as followed: You should know how to drive stick (b/c I don't), you need to know how to fix a car (b/c I don't), you shouldn't mind sleeping in the car, you have to be nice and make friends with anybody...Even a brick wall (b/c that will come in handy), you must be strong enough to fight off bullies (just b/c), and you need to have a special talent that can make money (in case we run out of gas or get hungry. I have a few hidden talents myself..I once learned how to play an accordion.) and you should probably be pretty spontaneous and still be able to use common sense (b/c sometimes I forget how).
Any takers? Really. I'll discuss the details with those who contact me.
