Melody, rich and thick like warm, dark chocolate syrup, so pure, without hesitation...
The lyrics flow freely from a burning source deep, deep, deep, inviting me in, slowly, steadily.
My eyes are fixed and all I hear is the beckoning voice of velvet.
I am caught in its rhythm...Like a cheetah on a leash, moving with power, one step at a time,
practicing patience for my moment to leap.
Hours of preparation leading to the flight. Distance is no match for destiny.
I hear the creaking of a door and light streams, a thin line, from the crack beneath; Is it open now?
The vintage floor is cold under my bare feet, in contrast to the warmth of the anticipating blood that keep this heart pumping.
Quiet.
The rhythm is getting louder now. I feel it pounding in my chest. A breeze whispers through the window, prodding my planted feet to move a little-They lead my legs, and then hips follow. The dance takes over and I lose control of my own shell. I find myself moving forward to the beat of my heart -now through the door, slightly ajar, and into a strangely familiar scene.
This place smells fresh, like honeysuckle and the air just after a summer rain. Tho I can not see where the road goes, the path is defined beneath me...I feel it in my toes.
