An occasional car passes by, going in the direction of Wal*Mart. The ground, I can see from my window, is wet with last night's rain. Around here things are quiet as most of Auburn still sleeps. It is still early (11:24am)....?
I sit on my beloved bed in my sweats and think about how great it is to have a mind, to be able to breath, create, and love.
I am amazed by the wonders the Lord created when He decided to speak existence into existence.
And so, my Saturday begins....
Have you ever wanted to leave it all behind? Get in a car, grab a pack of m&m's and a cherry coke, and drive. Who knows where you would end up...but, you see, that's the fun in it all. As I like to say in moments of near anxiety attacks, "You are never lost. You're always somewhere." Maybe it isn't the most profound statement you've ever heard; but how many times do we not realize the truth in my genius remark? (yes, i'll humbly admit it, I'm a genius.) I will answer my own question now: Yes, I want to leave it all behind, grab a pack of m&m's and a cherry coke, and drive. I want to take three months and drive the country. I am ashamed to say that I have only seen 13 out of all 50+1 of the U.S. I feel the need to know where I come from past the borders of Dixie.
I want to eat cornbread made from a campfire skillet in Arizona and drink some pop in Chicago. I want to learn how to fly fish on a summer day in...where ever they flyfish, and ride a stallion into the sunset in Montana. I want to coast through the sky in a hot air balloon over Napa Valley, and I want to go to the Kentucky Derby and wear a big ridiculous hat. I want to see all of the states that have directions in them or the word "new." There are many other unchecked items on this list of mine; I really should get started.
